Cross-Border Heritage Bridge – Trebinje

The first peer-to-peer experience exchange workshop on the topic of archaeological heritage protection within the Cross-Border Heritage Bridge project was successfully implemented. The Serbian Archaeological Society in cooperation with the Museum of Herzegovina from Trebinje hosted over 20 male and female colleagues from two countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, among whom were employed colleagues from the culture and protection sector, as well as students. During the first day, employees of the Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje shared with us the experiences of last year’s project from the same invitation, after which we approached the topic and focus of the three-day workshops. During the next three days, the participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and difficulties in the protection of archaeological heritage in their countries, to learn how to make 3D models with the help of a mobile device, and to consider how to establish or improve institutionalized protocols to combat illegal trade in archaeological heritage.

More details about the workshop, as well as practical guidance, will be available through the Handbook which is currently under development and will be available in the autumn.
